Free Conference calls in India

Sabeer Bhatia's another startup. will it attain the stature of hotmail? Like the way hotmail revolutionalised the way mails work, with his new startup he is aiming to change the way people setup conference calls. SabseBolo.com offers free conference call setup for a maximum of 10 users. If u have to more participants, there is a premium service available to you.

Only the admin needs to have an account and he have to share the conference id and pin with other participants. In the website, theres an option for the admin to schedule the call and to enter the email of attendees. email will be sent to all attendees with the conference id and pin. ( along with the scheduled time :) )

so hearing that this service is free, I wanted to test its sound quality. so called my brother and asked him to be free for 10 mins , scheduled a conf.

with huge expectations, I dialled the number given ( its a mumbai number. so for rest of India, normal std rates will be applicable). I logged in. then came the biggest disappointment. they made me hear 2 of their advts. :). once I entered the conference call, there were no disturbance. sound quality was excellent. they have tried their best to filter the noices. after checking the quality we hung the call.

Except that the ads will be played beore u enter the conference call, I didnt find any drawback in the whole setup.

For Students, this is the best one where u can have ur usual conference calls, the day before ur semester exams. :) . For informal parties also I will suggest using this site.

But for entrepreneurs who want to have a conf with their probable clients, I wont suggest this , as the clients will feel bored by hearing the ads in the beginning.

After all, nothing comes for free.

Good Concept....

Another good way to use it would be when friends in different offices need to discuss something imp like planning for a weekend movie. What to do just log into sabsebolo!!!

But somehow I feel the name "Sabeer Bhatia" has lost its flair. He mite be the brain behind hotmail. But that doesnt mean he has to be a consistent enterpreuner. He did bring some other ideas before sabsebolo but didnt click as hotmail did. Only time can tell whether Sabeer can do it again.
